cbdMD Launches Travel-Size CBD Topicals for C-Stores

October 2020

cbdMD, one of the leading brands in the CBD industry, is rolling out travel-size versions of its popular CBD topicals specifically for convenience stores.

The company has already made itself an essential player by selling directly to consumers and through specialty retailers. Its CBD Freeze Pain Relief Gel won a Product of the Year award back in February for its combination of broad-spectrum CBD extracts, menthol, and soothing herbs in a roll-on applicator.

Now C-store owners can buy travel-friendly bottles of Freeze from cbdMD’s wholesale website. Each bottle contains 100 mg of CBD or 50 mg per ounce.

cbdMD is also offering a two-ounce squeeze tube of CBD Recover Pain-Relieving Formula. This cream also contains 100 mg of CBD and histamine dihydrochloride, the same working ingredient in the Australian Dream and Golden Creme.

Both products are indicated for temporary relief of joint pain, muscle aches, and back pain.

Wholesale customers can also get display boxes and other swag from cbdMD.com to help catch buyers’ attention.

cbdMD scored top marks in unaided brand awareness when industry researcher the Brightfield Group surveyed customers late last year. In particular, sports fans may have noticed it due to high-profile endorsements by golf star Bubba Watson and Olympian Lolo Jones, among others.

The company also distinguishes itself from its Superior Broad Spectrum formula, which combines pure CBD with other cannabinoids and hemp terpenes while keeping THC levels undetectable.

But admittedly, it’s getting into the C-store market a bit later than some of its competitors. cbdMD says that’s because it took the trouble to do some research before jumping in.

“We were late in offering these products because we had them specifically engineered to perform in the convenience store market,” said Yoshi Tochiki, the company's Wholesale Product Development Manager. "When our competitors launched full-size products in these markets, we waited and found that smaller offerings do better in these environments."

Tochiki also touts the value proposition, saying that cbdMD offers a better price per milligram of CBD than other leading brands.

The CBD market has stayed attractive for C-store owners, proving resistant even to the current recession. In an August report, the Brightfield Group forecast 14.3% growth in the U.S. hemp-derived CBD market this year and noted that many CBD users increased their intake due to stress from the pandemic.
